Who We Are

Chabad Young Professionals is dedicated to growing a vibrant and inspired network of young Jewish folks in their 20s and 30s here in Raleigh. We provide a holistic milieu of dynamic social events, career-focused professional functions, handcrafted educational experiences, meaningful spiritual gatherings and opportunities for authentic relationships.

Our Vision

We believe that Judaism and one's relationship with G-d could be dynamic, beautiful, personal and deeply sincere. That Jewish experiences should be relevant, exciting, soulful, and inviting. And that CYP can be your community, your family and your home.

Each one of us has the ability to impact our surroundings and create change in our local community, and by extension, the world.

Let's build the Young Jewish Raleigh community, together.

“Moving from DC, where we found ourselves amidst a vibrant young professional Jewish community, we were worried about finding a means to connect to a Jewish community in this area. Chabad YP in Raleigh has been an oasis for us; a place we can look forward to coming to so that we can connect, grow and thrive both in a spiritual and personal capacity.”

Our Team

Rabbi Zalmy Dubinsky
Co-Director

Rabbi Zalmy was born and raised in sunny Los Angeles, and then expanded his passion for Judaism all over the world -- he furthered his Jewish studies in Maryland, Iowa and Israel, worked as a Rabbi in London, and then as a Montessori teacher in Brooklyn. Zalmy has always felt passionate about making a difference, and always knew that he would find a place to make that happen. In 2017, he and his wife Mushka visited downtown Raleigh, immediately fell in love with it, and made it their home. When not doing Rabbi things, Zalmy can be found drinking coffee (strong with a splash of milk, or a really frothy latte), reading something on international history, or planning a trip somewhere in the world. Fun fact about Zalmy: he put Tefillin on Larry King once on a street corner in Beverly Hills.

Mushka Dubinsky
Co-Director

Mushka originally hails from California, where she grew up in a family dedicated to community-- her parents run their own Chabad center in Mission Viejo! Even as a little girl, there was no question in her mind that she would do the same. She furthered her studies in Chicago and Israel, and then landed in Brooklyn where she met Zalmy, worked at the Jewish Children’s Museum, and Chabad HQ. Mushka loves to cook, meeting new people, being a mom to Chana, and interior design.

Chana Dubinsky
Everyone’s Favorite Executive Assistant

As proud big sister, Chana is also our most enthusiastic about all things CYP related. Chana loves to draw, take really good care of her dolls, and outdo anyone in a fashion contest. She is obsessed with Shabbos-- her favorite song is “Shabbos Kodesh” by Moshav Band, her favorite food is challah, and she loves when YPs come for Shabbos meals-- join us for one and make her day! Fun fact about Chana: she loves animals!

Rochel Dubinsky
Employee of the Month, Every Month

Our tiniest team member so far, Rochel never shies away from a chance to party. Rochel loves to dance, enjoys a good meal, and can blow bubbles better than any 18 month old. With a perpetual smile on her face, Rochel’s joy is infectious. Fun fact about Rochel: she just started school
